Previously it showed 190MB, and now shows 380MB

Yeah, that's a bug. After you run Disk Cleanup... check again... it will show ~194MB.
Keep in mind that this ~194MB bug is just a reporting error. When you get to ~194MB it has actually been "cleaned".

Doing the following will fix the bug, but in some cases it messes up Windows Update.

24H2 - how to remove the two (un)reclaimable that always show in DISM

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Well Ran it twice, even restarted in between 2nd Run, and still shows 380MB lol

But if just a bug i'll just leave it be, and check it again in the future.

It "should" show about 194MB after cleaning.
On my system, that's what it shows. Same on a lot of other folks systems.




Open Terminal (as Admin), and run this command and post a screenshot of the results...

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore

Well i'll try again in a bit, and see if i can get it to show 194MB

So far still shows 380MB lol even after the Restart after finishing Windows updates earlier

Unless i sign out of my Standard user MS Account, and login to my local Admin account and give the cleaning another shot in a little while here, and see if that works to show 194MB at that point

Run the command I linked in post #4

If the result shows TWO reclaimable packages, then Disk Cleanup should show 194MB

If the result shows "more" than two reclaimable packages, then you need to run this command...

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

That should get you down to 2 reclaimable packages and the 194MB result in Disk Cleanup.

Resolved with those above Commands, Now showing Nothing in Disk cleanup in regards to Windows Update Cleanup

It seems they must have fixed the problem... I did the ResetBase command (which I haven't run in a while), and I still have the 2 reclaimable packages, but just got this result...

Maybe it got fixed in 25H2? I've had the ~194MB issue since the beginning of 24H2.

Interestingly, after the initial 380MB on both my machines after the 26200.6899 update they were both completely clean on Windows Update Cleanup the second check. I was expecting at least the 194MB but nothing.

Interesting question and here's where I stand. After the 26200.6725 last update I showed 3 reclaimable packages on two machines and I left them alone on both machines. Today I updated to 2600.6899 on the same two machines and I now show just two reclaimable packages on both which I am once again leaving alone.

Yeah... I've always had TWO reclaimable packages which seemed to bring the 194MB Disk Cleanup bug with them, in 24H2.
I ran the Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase command today,
and the Disk Cleanup bug is gone, even though I still show TWO reclaimable packages.


Back on March 27th, I did the following (see link below), and got ZERO reclaimable packages, and Disk Cleanup worked.
BUT... I had issues with Windows Update for the 1st time. So I did an In-Place Upgrade which fixed the WU problem, but gave me back the TWO reclaimable packages and the Disk Cleanup bug.

24H2 - how to remove the two (un)reclaimable that always show in DISM

In 24H2 the command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore always shows that there are 2 reclaimable packages, and that a cleanup is recommended. But they remain there after the cleanup command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup They are even present in a clean...

Yeah, I did the same and started having update issues in Jul, Aug, and Sep so I'm leaving those reclaimable packages alone unless they really pile up in number. And I won't forcibly remove the two un-reclaimable packages any more.

I DIDN'T reclaim those TWO packages. I only ran the ResetBase command and that fixed Disk Cleanup, even though I still have TWO reclaimable packages.

Gotcha, and I'm agreeing with you, DON'T reclaim them as it may cause problems. I no longer mess with them.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I messed with the reclaimable packages 1 time on 24H2, after had a few issues with Windows update, and Windows Store app updates. Made a decision to no longer mess with them
