Windows update is not showing the latest updates for my DELL latptop for Microsoft Defender Antivirus, etc..

The updates are installed as far as I know it is as up to date as my desktop..
but when I ran a Windows update check tonight while doing updates on my DELL laptop PC #2 here.
it did not showing any updates but I after which I checked the Defender antivirus was up to date at (v1.443.367.0)
- Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602
it was I got an update but it didn't show it when checking unless a check was done at login before I could check myself..
but it that was the case why not show it up to date in the WU history logs...
last update listed was back from September 2025 I think.

any thoughts anyone?
should I try forcing a Windows update system check or reset etc?

I thought you were concerned about your laptop. The Security Intelligence Update (or "definitions", "signatures") are revised several times a day, but usually a working PC gets one update per day.

Run the MpCmdRun.exe commands. If they don't work, you may have to look at resetting Windows Update.

I was just replying to previous post using my desktop as and example since my laptop is off right now.
and yes this issue is about my laptop... for sure.
its not recording the antivirus updates in the Windows update history log.
some times..

I'm experiencing something similar on my Dell Vostro laptop. System > About shows I'm on OS Build 26100.7462, which (at least according to Chat GPT) corresponds to KB5072033 (December 9, 2025 cumulative update).

Windows Security shows:
> Security Intelligence version 1.443.536.0
> Version created on 1/6/26 2:46 PM

When I look at Windows update history, however, its showing the last:
> Security Update (KB5068861) as of November, and
> Cumulative update as "2025-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5065431)"
Clearly neither of these are accurate.

When applying December updates, I took special care to monitor progress, and noted that all updates completed successfully, so I really don't know what's going on with Widows Update > Update History.

BTW, I was never offered 24H2 from Microsoft, so on Oct 18th, I updated to 24H2 using a September ISO from rg-adguard.net (with Rufus to prep the USB). I don't know if that has anything to do with it. For now I've chalked it up to a Dell-related issue.

Clearly neither of these are accurate.

When applying December updates, I took special care to monitor progress, and noted that all updates completed successfully, so I really don't know what's going on with Widows Update > Update History.

BTW, I was never offered 24H2 from Microsoft, so on Oct 18th, I updated to 24H2 using a September ISO from rg-adguard.net (with Rufus to prep the USB). I don't know if that has anything to do with it. For now I've chalked it up to a Dell-related issue.

at some point, if this bothers me enough, I'll try @Josey Wales suggestion of resetting Windows Update. I reckon so.
