Windows update kills a previously working fingerprint reader.

I built this machine in March. I added a Benss USB fingerprint reader and It's been working since day one. Now suddenly it's not. I believe there was a Windows update before this happened.

Just installed (KB5065789) update and it's working again. I did not have to re-register my fingers.

Here we are back again. The same fingerprint reader has stopped working. In sign-in options, it says "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint." Including the unit that has been compatible for the last 6 months.

rollback the driver and disable driver auto updates in windows updates
