hello,
i have an issue with windows update ,, it says something went wrong try to reopen settings later.. i ran into malware.. its causing trouble.. removed it using malwarebytes ,, but still same issue. please help me repair windows 11 please

my os build is 22621.1992. i also installed it during malware issue .. ever since that its happening.. i have removed malwares all .. please help

Probably the best thing you can do at this point is to do a Clean Install of Windows 11.
Make the Windows USB install media on a different computer, just to be on the safe side.

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software


The malware that you had, may have broken something. So if that doesn't solve it...

i have one 512gb nvme in which os is installed and my old 1 tb HDD is conencted to motherboard..
now can i download iso on D drive (HDD) and mount it and repair nvme os ?

That would be an IN-Place Upgrade. But that "may" not fix malware leftovers.
But you can try it...

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.

Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.

The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations.
Your drivers, programs and data will be intact.




An In-Place Upgrade will ONLY fix Windows problems. It won't fix 3rd party programs or drivers.

Look at the bottom of post #6 again... get the ISO from Microsoft... it's easier.
I type very slowly... I always "add" things to my posts.




The problem with infections, is it's hard to tell "what" they infected.
If it just infected some Windows files, then an In-Place upgrade will fix things.

But if it infected 3rd party programs or drivers... the In-Place upgrade won't fix those.
