Wireless Mouse ...

I had gotten a New Laptop, it took a couple days just changing things over.. One thing I added to the new laptop was an adapter with a couple extra USB ports .. Problem at that point when I was re hooking my Wireless Mouse, I lost contact with the Mouse .. I've changed the batteries , no go ?? Thoughts Opinions Appreciated, Cheers Thanks.. BTW I plugged the Brains to the Mouse that little plug directly into the Laptop , not through the New USB adapter

When you say adapter, I am assuming you mean a usb hub. Does the mouse come back when you remove the usb hub? If so there's an issue with the hub causing interference with the mouse. If that doesn't work reset usb controller option 3 here. USB port may stop working after you remove or insert a USB device - Microsoft Support

The last Notebooks I've gotten have fewer USB ports [ 2 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C] so I use Bluetooth mice. Bluetooth is usually included with/as part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter.
