We just got a new Spectrum router in NW Lower Michigan. After we connected we found that the time on our PC is wrong and it said the time changed because our location changed. I went to Settings - Location and checked that the Default Location is correct. Because the time is wrong on my PC it causes quite a few problems. I also went to Google Maps and found that the defualt location had changed to Milwaukee, WI which is in a different time zone. I updated the default location there to be my Home location here in NW Lower Michigan and that cured the default location in Google Maps but did not affect the location being used on my Windows 11 (updated) desktop PC to automatically set the time. How can I fix this issue? Thanks!
In your Windows settings you can disable the setting for automatic time zone and set it to a fixed zone.
As I am using a Dutch system, I only can show that setting in the Dutch version:
It's the upper setting, in English it will be something like: Adjust timezone automatically, shift that to Off.
I agree with @Kees. As far back as I can remember I have always turned off Set Time Zone automatically. Never had had a problem arise because of having the setting turned off.
To reset the timezone in your Spectrum router, you typically need to access the router's settings through a web browser by entering the router's IP address. **Look for the time zone settings in the router's configuration menu and adjust it accordingly.**
I don't believe Windows clients will honor the Time Zone provided by DHCP. So this move would only change the Spectrum router's self-reported time & date.

When Windows 11 boots it automatically synchronizes the BIOS time with the system time. If you are connected to the Internet it might make a time update. That makes sense because after you install Windows, set your time zone and connect to the Internet your system time should be correct. Also, if you then go into the BIOS the time should be correct there also.
Back in February I noticed that my time was an hour ahead. Checking the time settings showed it had set the wrong time zone. I had to manually set the time zone for my time to be right. After the time change in March I tried to set the time zone to auto but it set it wrong again. I set it back to manual again. About a month later I tried changing it to auto again. This time the time zone and time were correct.
I wonder if if some Windows update had caused the original problem with a follow up update fixing it?
