Ditto, but on a ROG Hero Z590. It contains a newer CPU microcode revision with a security patch that reduces performance, but other than that it is very stable. There is reportedly a registry setting that turns the patch off. I haven't tired that, but am instead running a slightly older microcode revision in a modded 2001 BIOS.

Hi,
Noticed a change on my newest bios
PTT could not be disabled.
Luckily I have dual bios and it works on it
Soon I'll use bios flash back to a version that doesn't freeze PTT I have no intention to ever use bitlocker.

Intel security vulnerability pages did say that, for the Intel downfall vulnerability, which is what we are talking about, Microsoft should be providing an opt-out for the patch. I found this in my investigation. I have not tried it.

https://betanews.com/2023/08/28/microsoft-reveals-how-to-mitigate-the-downfall-vulnerability-affecti...

If you want to see if this "downfall" patch bypass works, you could run a benchmark with and without the bypass and compare. It might only be for Windows server.

Thought worth mentioning, this 2203 BIOS update includes a LED Firmware update and some boards have had issues with the LED upgrade.
I found it successful other than there was no automatic reboot after the firmware update, just a short message that it was updating and do not turn it off. So, I just let it set about an hour (probably needlessly) and then hit the reset.

Do you have any additional information about what this LED update does? In other words, what do I need to check to determine if I am affected by this issue? I have this BIOS installed on my system, so you have me curious now.

Didn't find much for our specific ASUS MB, but it updates the stability of the LED boot light function, and it also affects the AURA lighting. This 2203 version was the first time I noticed, I haven't experienced any other issues and all my updates have been flawless to this point. Some users experienced extremely long boot times and loops, I would imagine if you flashed with no issues, it's good to go.

Bios is updating led firmware !!

Thanks.

Thanks, still a little gun shy after that 2203 glitch. May give it a go here shortly, worst case I got a reason for a Z890.
