Don't know if a Hard Drive is considered a "device," but this forum is the closest I could find. Have an internal HD (the case failed). I've connected the HD to a W11 PC via USB. It isn't recognized in File Explorer nor Disk Management. How do I access/reformat the drive?

Pressing WIN-V results in a spinning circle for 2-3 seconds. Then . . . nothing. I've found if I open NOTEPAD on my PC, I can Copy/Paste within that app. Thus, I know? CTRL-C copies. However, copying from Notepad to Winword or to Reply here results in nothing. Copying from here to Notepad...

Regardless of app, CTRL-V does not PASTE. CTRL-X works. Don't know if CTRL-C works or not. How do I resolve this? BTW, right-clicking the mouse and selecting "Paste" doesn't work either.

Thanks for the replies. It'll take a few days to borrow another mouse. Meantime, I'll change batteries. The dongle and the mouse are 2' apart - line of sight. Just a thought? Could the mouse have a different app? to adjust settings?
