To call me an Insider would be an insult. I have no truck with Microsoft, at all. But I do have 24H2 installed on more than one PC., and I see no problems with it.
There was, however, one thing I did not like about 24H2, and that was..... that it would not actually RUN on any PC not having the SSE4.2 Instruction set IN the CPU chip. (not the bios or motherboard, but the CPU chip itself). And, I still have several of those.

I'm not a big time gamer, but I do like the OLD Solitaire, and that seems to run just fine.

Like they say on The X Files, "the truth is out there!"

The problem with test builds (where 24H2 is at) is that they tend to carry a lot of debug/telemetry overhead and that makes it difficult to gauge performance.

To be fair, if you game, and particularly if you game with relatively new, AAA titles, you should not be using an Insiders Preview build.

To be even more fair, if you game and want the absolute best performance - go back to Windows 10.

I use Win11 as my daily driver, and I game on it (from Skull and Bones, Diablo IV, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 4, Forza Motorsport, and other intensive titles (Elden Ring, Everspace 2, Ghostwire Tokyo, etc.) and I get decent enough performance from my rig to not complain too much - but report after report after report shows that Win10 still outperforms Win11 in apples to apples comparisons - IOW, the same exact rig, tested alternately running Win10 and Win11.

Others here have already addressed 24H2 directly.

Makes things look like a wash. Slightly different benchmarks with the two OSes, but not consistently better for one or the other.

I gamed on every Insider build for 9 years till I got off of it. I am thinking about getting back on with 24H2 bu I think I will wait till it goes BETA or RP.

I used PS system32 and Bitlocker was off for the SSD/OS volume and the HDD/Data volume. It may be on the machine but it's never been started up.

I just noticed the Lock Status. The SSD is unlocked and the HDD is disabled,

As I mentioned, I use Windows 11 and game on it perfectly fine - but if you want to squeeze the performance out of it (which I don't - I'm plenty happy with what I get already) then Windows 10 seems to be the better option.

My gaming rig runs 10 pro. I don't have issues with 11, but I have had 0 problems with 10 so I have just stuck with it.

As I mentioned, I use Windows 11 and game on it perfectly fine - but if you want to squeeze the performance out of it (which I don't - I'm plenty happy with what I get already) then Windows 10 seems to be the better option.

I saw that article. I wasn't impressed with the amount of content in it.

As far as I've noticed, 11 hasn't degraded significantly in the 30+months since its release. If people are switching back to 10 now, I presume that they've waited a long while before trying it.

IMO, quite the opposite, it has gotten more stable, and more features making it similar to Win10.

Admittedly, since I already game on Win11, I don't pay as much attention to the differences between Win10 and Win11 when it comes to gaming, and more of what I have read shows that, for certain technology, you can't use Win10 (mostly very new stuff, it seems), but Win10 was also (relatively speaking) more unstable in gaming in the early years before it matured and became rock solid.

Win 11 is right at 3 years old (including the Beta period), so it's not surprising if users still have more issues on it than Win10 when compared side by side.

And this little thing called a budget necessitates that you also consider things like other hardware, your OS, programs that you use, and tweaks that you make to not only the OS but also the UEFI firmware / BIOS settings, to get better performance within your budget.

Not everyone can afford to build a $5000 gaming rig. But that doesn't mean everyone who wants to game is also forced to settle for sub-par experiences when other things like OS and software are holding them back.
