Using Windows 11, Pro, V23H2, 22631.4751. System Specs in profile, device 1.

Today my machine started the update process to 24H2. Got the message to restart and did so.

The update did not process long and failed in a Blue Screen of Death - Reason Setup Failure - error code 0xc1900101.

I ran SFC two days ago, it found and repaired, no requirement to run again. No third party products blocking telemetry or altering Start. PowerToys is installed.

Anybody else experiencing the same. Did not see a thread to join / read.

I will also mention I have two third party AV's, Malwarebytes, current version updated and Super Anti Spyware, up to date. I know in the early days we use to recommend uninstalling 3rd part AV's. I was hoping we were over those days. Paused updates two weeks. Thankfully the recovery process work and I have Macrium in my back pocket.

I will add that my wife's Dell updated with the same AV's installed, no issues except it updated the BT driver.

Check drivers and SAS has two in trouble as "Hidden Item" - SASDIFSV and SASKUTIL - Super Anti Spyware - removed license and uninstalled.

EDIT... When your doing a feature Upgrade like 24H2... turn off all AV.
Same for In-Place Upgrade if you go that route.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Thanks. Already uninstalled SAS and just finished removing Powertoys and Malwarebytes. Already run Macrium. I try to limit myself to no tweaks to avoid just the situation I'm in. If I run vanilla it should just work.

Going to try update to 24H2 again right now. Of note the update to 11 had the AV's in as did 23H2. That said they have been completely uninstalled.

Great. I uninstalled SAS, Power Toys and Malwarebytes. Re-enabled updates, found an update for Security Intelligence, but my machine must have been promoted to a Block list. 24H2 is no longer for offer.

Guess I'll re-install and wait. Must check my wife's machine and see if her SAS has those two drivers in trouble.

Since MS is no longer offering I will not press my luck with a forced install.

24H2 Installation Fail

Hi all got the restart messge just now, set it off and after the usual reboots etc i got an unexpected "undoing changes made to your computer" message. i'm now back in and Check For Updates says if failed w/ 0xc1900101 ~ any ideas? TIA

Running Windows 11 Pro V23H2 (22631.4751) Yesterday I was offered the upgrade to 24H2. I did the restart, it didn't process very long, did a reboot and BSOD'ed. Setup Failure - 0xc1900101 It rolled back successfully. I did have Super Anti Virus and Malwarebytes running. Did the same upgrade...
