W10 is 7 years old, W11 is 1 year old, and W10 is more stable than W11. Maybe you can re-install W10 and stay with W10 until end of support (October 2025) and then switch to W11. W11 should be pretty stable by then.

Personally I see no difference in stability between W10 and W11 - neither has given me any BSOD problems. I also have no preference for one or the other. Both my computers were initially on W10 Home and upgraded to W11 Home when I thought Eleven had most of the gremlins worked out of it.

Of course, I'm a home user and don't stretch my OS particularly. The only programs I use that cause any stress to the system are AI apps used in photo editing (noise reduction, sharpening and increasing pixel count) and they certainly make the fans run :)

For me The past few years I have not had time to explore Win11 much. I would still be on Win10 if wife didn't spill a drink on the older system lol.
Now she got the Z270 i77700k system with Win10 and I got a new Z590 with Win11. Win10 works great and Win11 works great. Win11 is just an upgrade so to speak. No problems here worth talking about. For me the only difference in Win11 I want to say is like the township set some streets to one way and then after everybody gets used to going that way they decide to change for no reason and make you go the other way to get where you want to go lol. Never understand that :)

To me, Win 11 is just Win 10 with a different skin. I have had zero problem with Win 11 since upgrading, other than my icons move around sometimes. Overall, I am pleased with it, but I don't like MS dictating what hardware we can run it on. To me, that smacks of Intel and AMD throwing a lot of money at MS in order to get MS to force costly upgrades on the consumer. It's dirty and disingenuous and there was no real reason for it IMO, other than a blatant cash grab by chip makers with assistance from MS.

Microsoft's justification for requiring an 8th gen or higher Intel processor, or the equivalent from AMD, is that they natively support the security features (Core Isolation/Memory Integrity) that are turned on by default in 11, but are off by default in 10. Older processors have to emulate the functions required to support this, with a consequent impact on performance.

That's Microsoft's line anyway. Me I'll run 11 on older processors, but won't turn on Memory Integrity

I ordered my Dell XPS 9510 with Windows 11 Pro. Windows 11 was designed to have a better UI and to be more secure. For me, these goals have been accomplished.

I neither like one nor the other but 11 has taken a bit of getting used to and "tweaking" to my liking before I settled into it. Both seem as stable as each other at this point and time using 11. I don't regret moving, it had to happen given the age of 10 just maybe wish it didn't seem so quirky in the first few weeks.

You can dislike MS as much as you like, but in the end, they are a business, not a charity.

Don't like it - lobby the US Government, or buy enough shares in MS to change things.

Had a similar discussion else where when a user started complaining that his 5 year old desktop (with, admittedly, an 8 year old CPU) could not upgrade to 11. I love it, personally, but I'm also the kinda guy that likes to tinker with stuff and fix things and such - 21H2 was nothing but a worldwide Beta release in all but name. 22H2 is still a worldwide Beta release in all but name. 10 is much more stable, but it's also 6 years older - you'd think that makes sense by now.

Additionally, there is nothing really keeping you from going back if upgraded, just gotta format and reinstall, and next time don't take the upgrade.

I love aspects of 11, and hate other aspects of it. But, overall, I run it because, for the most part, many of hte things I hate I don't actually run into all that often, particularly since I use a 3rd party file manager, and Explorer is where a lot of those things are. So, I stuck with it.

No regrets.

my laptops moved to Windows 11 from Windows 10. They indeed are running a little better on same hardware resource (RAM SSD, , ,).
my Lenovo IdeaPad 120S, 2GB RAM. 32GB eMMC was running slower on Windows 10. and no way to run Windows 10 updates.

Some of my desktop computers even stay on Windows 7. NOT Windows 10 yet. hence, also no regrets.

I think its a great choice for me. I love the aesthetics and change of looks overall, the organization and location of many things makes way more sense.
The only downside as with anything nowadays is they continue just like apple or any other corp. to shove more and more useless crap into their builds
cause for me yeah for sure I need an optical eye reader or fingerprint reader or need windows to tell me im fat and nedd to move around every hour..lol..naw kidding. But yeah I am enjoying using 11 over 10 way.

.. As I have used (2) computers for different purposes for some years, I became rather annoyed when neither of the Asus laptops was suitable for W11. After some deliberation, I purchased (2) new Asus units with W11 (HOME) installed.
After some time in a learning curve from online discussions, I was able to upgrade both my older Asus units to run quite well on W11.
.. and I've learned a lot. Do I regret upgrading to W11 ? .. nope .. not at all. Sure, the new units are running a lot faster, but both older ones are now receiving regular updates online .. apart from upgrading to 22H2 standards.
In my mid 70's and still have a commodore 64 that cruises along quite amicably ..

Whether your W11 machine is stable or not, also depends on your stability requirements.

For example, I find my W11 laptop very stable, but I only use it for fun, my stability requirements are low. If you use your W11 machine for SOHO (Small Office Home Office) and your income depends on it, then your stability requirements would be much higher.

Welcome to Eleven Forum. That too, upgrading an unsupported device from 21H2 to 22H2, can be achieved with some simple workarounds. All my unsupported machines now run W11 22H2. One of them is even running the Insider Beta build of 22H2, 22623.746 without any issues.
