A rant about Monitors!

Why do the manufacturers of monitors hide the control buttons? Do they have to be hidden on the back or be small buttons on the bottom? What is wrong with the buttons being on the front? To save energy, I aways turn off my monitors when I put my computer in sleep mode or when I turn the computer off. Another thing I don't understand. I have two Samsung monitors on my desktop. On one the blue light only comes on when the monitor is off and the other one, the blue light comes on when the monitor is on. If I'm using my computer, Why would I need a light to tell me the monitor is on? Wouldn't the fact that I'm using the monitore be good enough? Not a problem, Just a rant.

TVs have done the same for years...and not even separate buttons, but the now ubiquitous joystick. They are looking for aesthetics and want the thinnest bezel possible so as to appear to be all screen. With so many wall mounted, the controls can't as easily be on the back, etc.

I don't mind them doing it on TVs. I control my TV with the cable box remote or the Roku remote. I have seen TVs that could only be controlled with a remote. My new Samsung 27" curved monitor has the joystick on the back. The way I have it set, I have to pull the corner of it out to get my hand between it and the wall. My other 27" Samsung monitor has a wide bezel on the bottom, and they still decided to put the little buttons underneath it. That makes way too easy to hit the wrong button.
