Accent Color is Broken 22H2

The computer I referenced in original post is a laptop. I just got home from travel and went and could repeat the behavior on my desktop. Fortunately, because it added the dark color to the recently used colors, I could revert back. However, on the laptop, I was able to get a darker to work by manually entering the RGB numbers...weird.

Today I turned on my laptop at 11am, clicked File Explorer and the title bar was grey. Randomly clicking the File Explorer icon in taskbar while working, making no changes to the system, and at 12pm the title bar is the accent color. LOL. It's magic! I don't even know where to look to see what is happening. Where do I find the logs for this? I tried event viewer, but I have no idea what I am looking for and clicked a few items that I thought are what I need to view. If I shutdown/restart the bar will be grey again. If I know which log to check then I can pinpoint what is happening.

Have you tried Dark Mode everywhere?
Have you tried the AccentColorInactive reg hack?

I don't like dark mode. The title bar is black no matter the color chosen. I haven't done a hack yet. Just thought maybe there was a command set to run on a timer to start after machine boots.

I wiped the laptop and reconfigured it again. I found the accent color in the File Explorer title bar with display only if using a Windows Theme, not just a by using a solid background and accent color. I chose a theme, changed the colors and saved it. I had the accent color displaying in the File Explorer title bar; however, now there are drop shadows on my desktop icons. Even if I deselect drop shadows in the performance settings they are still there even after restart. There are no drop shadows on the desktop icons if I don't use a theme and just chose a solid background but then I won't have the accent color on the File Explorer title bar. LOL. Decision now - pretty accent color on File Explorer title bar or drop shadows on desktop icons.

This may be related to the fact that when applying a theme, the setting that manages desktop icon drop shadows is automatically enabled. You should look in the detection settings of the active theme in the registry.

Try not to select any theme (just solid background), and apply the same theme with WinPaletter (GitHub - Abdelrhman-AK/WinPaletter: Advanced Colorizing Windows Accents). This may fix the problem. Let me know if the title bar of Explorer stays gray, I could report the problem to the developer of WinPaletter, who knows the subject well (he will probably be able to solve the problem).

Ok, so today no changes to my system and my File Explorer title bar is the accent color all day and no drop shadows, even after reboot. (Solid color, accent color, transparency) But a strange occurrence while I was watching TV on the laptop, there was a flash of the taskbar in a different color. LOL, but I was just sitting there watching TV!
