Acronis True Image or Macrium Reflect

I've used free apps from Terabyte for years and years, Cereberus. Especially BurnCDCC before I found out about Rufus. They have an amazing variety of free stuff. The caveat is that most of it is quite old, and probably won't be updated any time soon, if ever.

Of course, I wouldn't give up Macrium Reflect. Like a lot of users here, I have four paid Macrium 8s and one paid Macrium 7.

Well, Terabyte IFW actually was developed in 2002, some 4 years earlier than MR. I started using IFW in about 2005 and must have conducted some hundreds of backup and restores of disk images IFW created and it has never let me down. On the other hand, MR did fail a couple of disk image restore, in one occasion the OS drive was even not recognized in Windows PE after the restore by MR.
But you are right, these are just my personal experience. I have no statistics to support which one is more reliable.
Also - thank you for the mention of the FFU feature, I'll check it out

Just tried it here and it was substantially slower then Macrium. To each his own but I'll stay with Macrium.
