Personalization Add or Remove "Customize this folder" on Context Menu and Properties in Windows 11

Folder_Options_banner.png

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Customize tab on the properties page and Customize this folder context menu for all users in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

You can right click on a folder or non-OS drive, and click/tap on Properties to see a Customize tab.

You can right click on the background of an open folder or non-OS drive, and click/tap on Show more options (Shift+F10) to see the Customize this folder context menu. If you click/tap on the Customize this folder context menu item, it will open the Customize tab on the properties page of the folder or non-OS drive.

The Customize tab allows you to change the folder template, folder picture, and folder icon if supported by the folder or non-OS drive.

You must be signed in as an administrator to add or remove the Customize tab on the properties page and Customize this folder context menu.

Hello Jerry,

Not that I'm aware of. It's an all or none setting so far. :(

Something i just noticed, but I am not sure if it is due to my own customization (Using "Easy Context Menu" + various other individual tweaks).
(It may be something like another item assigned to "Folder Context Menu" overrides / replaces the "Customize this folder" item.)

If I right-click DIRECTLY on a folder, I have no "Customize this folder" context menu item.
If a folder is selected (highlighted) in either pane of Windows Explorer, right-clicking an empty space DOES give the context menu item "Customize this folder".

I wondered why this issue has not bothered me in a long time, but I have been using "EasyContext Menu" for a long time and I only noticed today that the context menu item appears while clicking in an empty space while a folder is selected.

Hello Lloyd, :alien:

Yeah, the Customize this folder context menu is only see when you right click on the background of an open folder (if supported), and click on Show more options.

I want to keep "Customize" tab on Properties page and remove only "Customize this folder" context menu.
Is there a way to do it in Windows 11 25H2v2 Home Single Language (26200.8037) ?!
