Hello,

I pinned the UWP "Realtec Audio Console" app to the Taskbar. Then I unpinned it.

Its icon disappeared from the Taskbar, but was replaced by a gray square, by clicking which "Realtec Audio Console" can start. See this picture:

I've tried the following to remove it, but no good.

* Restart Windows Explorer from Task Manager

* Restart PC

* Re-pin & unpin again

* Rebuild the Windows icon cache (with Brink's Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat)

How can I get rid of this gray square placeholder? Please help.

Works here, no problem, no grey square. No system mods to Windows.

You seem to have a system mod of the Taskbar/icons or something - Notepad, clock ?
You should say then people with that mod can help you.

Mine says for Console:
Audio Driver version: 6.0.9597.1
UI Version: 1.46.306.0

Hello @drkh, :alien:

You can see if resetting and clearing all pinned items on the taskbar using the method in the tutorial below may remove it. You will have to manually pin what you want back to the taskbar afterwards though.

That gray square is gone!

Yesterday when I started to try to unpin the gray square from the Taskbar, I tried a few times from the right-click menu of the gray square, and failed every time.

Today I tried again, this time from the Shift + Right Click menu. I succeeded.
