Has anybody noticed a current browser that saves its bookmarks as separate .url files [like IE used to do]?
I can't find one.

Comet Browser used to be paygated to the lucky few who paid $200 to access it and now its freeware. :-)

This is how IE saved its bookmarks .url files in Windows file systems not merely internal components of a browser profile [which was the big leap forward that IE made and it was miles better than Netscape].

I could then use File explorer to move the files to wherever I wanted so they could be in the same folders as all my other files about any given topic.

I just export Bookmarks and save them as a .docx...

if im not misunderstanding... you can export your browser favs (bookmarks) to an hmtl file, then launch IE and import from that html file, then go to your %userprofile%\favorites and move the individual favorite urls shortcuts from there to where ever you want. i do this periodically so that i can search with my hotkeys and open a site faster than normal

*if you werent referring to wanting to do this, disregard lol

I wanted to know if any current browsers saved their bookmarks as .url files [files i.e. things accessible by File explorer].
