Nothing.
[By the way, I was still looking up & adding bits to my post when you replied.]

A .url file is an internet shortcut. I wouldn't call it a document.

I don't want to export anything from anywhere and I don't understand why you are suggesting that.
There are umpteen ways of converting browser bookmarks into .url files.

I just wanted to know if any modern browser saved its shortcuts as .url files [without any further manipulations being required].
I expected answers such as dunno or XYZ browser does it.

nope. havent seen any that do in years. was giving you a way to, but as i stated.. if not what you were looking for, disregard.

Yes.
I have never experienced file integrity problems after having moved the Favourites into other folders.
So I have only ever had to set integrity levels within that Favourites folder itself.

I still like firefox as I like menus and I prefer its way of pinning bookmarks.
If you are using any Linux running KDE either Host or as a VM then konqueror is good too -- also acts as a local file browser as well.

But surely anything that chucks so much BS at the webpage visitor is very likely to be useless.
I would have been more impressed with a list, "dia does this - 1 ..., 2 ... , 3 ...]".

except the newest versions of the Waterfox browser from late 2025 & greater require a CPU with at least SSE4.2 support as noted on the Waterfox downloads page.
