Alternative to Macrium and Aomei Backupper - Free editions

Recently contacted Aomei about the dpi aware problem and I have to say that I'm not very impressed with the response which I just received:

Thank you so much for contacting us.
We will fix the issue, but we don't know the ETA, sorry.
If you have any other questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us back.
Stay healthy and take care!
Best Regard,

Fiona
I tried last version yesterday and I was moving a file from c: drive to my backup hdd later the backup stopped after more than an hour slowing my high end pc (5900x) at 94% error file missing !! this is ridiculous. I wont bother contact support.

I heard from news many companies now fire alots of their employees and some are bankruptcy because of world crisis so I think this is why macrium stopped free edition.

already know that in previous posts
Then why would you say "Macrium run fine"? The free version will be abandoned in a year.
I don't believe it is a smart idea to use unsupported software for such a critical operation as backup and restore.
Even a windows update could break it or a new SATA or NVMe driver or other host driver that cannot be integrated... failed restores, inability to start on new hardware that we don't know yet etc...

For a while, yes. But not for much longer, not the free version at least.
I have one little netbook where I'm still running v7 Free (v8's menus don't quite fit on its small display). That continues to work perfectly long after end of support for v7.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

unsupported machine: Legacy bios, MBR, TPM 1.2, upgraded from W10 to W11 using W10/W11 hybrid install media workaround. In-place upgrade to 22H2 using ISO and a workaround. Feature Update to 23H2 by manually installing the Enablement Package.
