In Greece they couldn't call either when I was online, but just picking up the headset to call (or opening the line for wireless phones) would cause too much interference and the download would time out and drop. Like I said Internet Explorer 6 and contemporary browsers would not pause and resume the download. If there was a time out, they just quit making all this download time wasted as I had to restart the download. It took over half an hour to download a typical 3-4MB MP3. Video streaming was still science fiction. If a website had a "large" image, such as 640x480 it would slowly appear line by line!
