Windows 11
I just updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I wanted to download the appstore to test whether it really does let you have android games. When I tried the download a message appeared saying my system wasn't compatible. I have an HP laptop with a AMD Ryzen 3 3250U processor, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor with 8 Gb of RAM. Not sure what part of the system isn't compatible. I am in the US.

Make sure you have virtualization enabled. What's frustrating for me is my MS Surface laptop has virtualization enabled by default and can't be turned off or on in the bios but it won't load Amazon app store and keeps giving the message I have to enable virtualization even though it's set to on.

It certainly works but biggest issue is you can only download a tiny selection of the full appstore games, and most are at the "candy crush" children's level.

Re compatability - hard to say but this is best info I could glean. Its is interesting that HDDs are not supported - this is the first case I am aware of when an HDD cannot be used - way of the future?

  • Windows 11. No Android apps for older versions.
  • Minimum 8 GB of RAM, 16 GB recommended.
  • Solid State Drive (SSD). Legacy hard drives are not supported.
  • CPU: x64 Intel Core i3 8th gen or newer; AMD Ryzen 3000 (Zen2) or newer; ARM64 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c or newer.
  • UEFI and Windows configuration: You should enable Virtual Machine Platform before installing Android apps on Windows 11.
