Amost impossible to get ChatGPT 6 digit login code

Once in the past month I was lucky enough to get a code in time to log in. That allows me to save my chats and go back to old ones. Except for that one time, I either never get the 6-digit code or it arrives well after the code timeout period. Any suggestions?

I don't use text messages for ChatGPT 2FA, but note that email and SMS 2FAs are inherently unreliable — if anything in the chain (including the service's providers) breaks, you can't log in.

TOTP authenticators are usually more reliable; you just need to keep your phone/authenticator's time synced. Also, ChatGPT now appears to support passkey logins, so you can use Windows Hello, Google Password Manager, third‑party password managers, or security keys as authenticators.

I suggest that the next time you successfully log in, you change your authentication methods to something inherently more reliable.



I also never log out of ChatGPT or clear its data and sessions (although I delete chats regularly), so login failure isn't an issue. If you don’t use it throughout the day, you probably don’t want to do this.
