Windows 11
Hi whoever can help me out,
Windows 11 is nagging me to update from my 23H2 version to its 24H2 version.
So far so good, except that the installation freezes at a certain point. Apparently, I'm not the only user to have encountered this snag - far from it, judging from the avalanche of posts and threads about this problem all over the Web.
The main source of trouble is said to be outdated drivers. However, when I check all my drivers - say in Computer Management/Disk Management, all appear to be up-to-date.
Other snags are said to be the culprits.
So, my question is: how do I install that important update without encountering "road-blocks"?
Or would you recommend waiting until Microsoft brings this house in proper order. Because users, who have managed to overcome the snag, complain that a series of mishaps occur after the update has been installed successfully.
With thanks for anyone's reply,
HK

Hi Cromax,
Sorry for the delayed reaction. And thanks for your reply.
Just one question: if I upgrade via a 24h2 .iso file, won't I lose some adjustments I made? Or do you mean by 24h2 .iso file, just the long-to-load and long-to-install update that Microsoft has on offer?
Looking forward to your reply.
Best,
HK

Manually update your drivers, don't rely entirely on Windows Update. Also you can disconnect any external devices and disable any unnecessary devices in Device Manager (sound, LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth etc), before the upgrade so Setup won't try to update any drivers for them. Disconnecting from the internet is also recommended.

Welcome to the Forum haku100
I installed Win 11 24h2 as soon as it came available. Had many issues so I did a clean install of Win 11 23h2.
I suggest you stay on Win 11 23h2 at least till Win 11 25h2 is released.
