Recently, I’ve been getting intermittent, but frequent, series of beeps when I’m not using the computer - it happens on one Win 11 computer, but not another. After 2 days playing with speakers, then Clean Boots, then Event Viewer, it turns out to coincide with event IDs 4624 and 4672. Seems a fairly common problem over the last decade. Does anyone have a solution for stopping it, as it’s driving me mad?

Have you scanned your computer for malware infections, as the logs created by Windows 11 or any other Windows version does not generate any beep sounds.

I've scanned with Bitfender, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. It only happens when there is an Event 4624 or 2672, and every time (2-3 times an hour). Both are shown as log ins. It's the same notification noise as when an email arrives. A Google search shows various people over the years with the same Notification noise coinciding with these events, but so far, no usable remedy

4624 is generated when a logon session is created. 4672 lets you know whenever an account assigned any "administrator equivalent" user rights logs on. You can go to settings>system>sound>more sound settings>sounds tab. Find the offending sound by selecting each event. Then select test. Once you find the event, set it to 'none.'

Hi. I know what it means (after 2 days non-stop working on it), but would like to stop it. I’m working through all the “more sound settings“, which I didn’t know about (I was looking in notifications), but it’s a slow proces. It would also be good to know what started it happening!
