I never owned a cell phone until I reluctantly needed one for work in 2001 since I was on the street all day and pay phones were pretty much a thing of the past here. The worst thing I ever did to one of my cell phones was forget I had it in my side jeans pocket while in a hurry and through it into the washer machine. When I opened up the washer after it completed a bright light (camera flash) was shining up at me and I knew what I'd done lol.I've had to use company-supplied smartphones in the past for my work. I know what a lure it can be. Not good for me at all.
And what's sad is what happens when the phone breaks or gets lost. What then.

I think a lot of kids today don't have the manual skills older generations had to grow up with. That they are addicted to convenience and having it easy and don't know what to do with themselves in an emergency when the phone goes down. I think a lot of adults are the same way, too.

PS: I'm not pointing fingers at anybody here. I'm just speaking out in general terms. Don't take it personal.
