I recently got an email from the WIP newsletter around 3:00PM that talked about joining the Windows Insider Panel to apparently participate in UX research studies and (english-only) surveys that "help shape the future of Windows". I attached an image of the message below.

So, I was wondering, has anyone else also gotten this email? If you have, do you plan on joining?

But there's a new Sheriff (Windows EVP) in town!! Pavan isn't Panos. I honestly have no idea whether Pavan will succeed, but he's got way more energy than the last 3-4 Windows heads.

Did you think Panos or Joe or whoever really gave a crap about Windows as a product?

Yes, got it and ignored it. My objective is more stability after the rough April patch Tuesday. Insider builds and panel participate is not good for short term reliability.

I was an active windows insider in Windows 10 but I've either gotten lazy or just burned out. I'm at the point in life now where I want all the stability I can get so I've stuck with release throughout Windows 11. I still get emails from Insider but they now automatically go to my deleted folder. Just not as into it all as much as I used to be.

A lot of changes are going on in Windows currently, bit early to draw conclusions.

Re previous heads of the Windows Dev Team, Panay was IMHO very underwhelming. Sinofsky has come out of the woodwork again today on some of the tech media. His legacy was Windows 8 before he quickly left MS and\or got pushed out by Ballmer.

Back in Win10, I got tired of giving feedback about issues that was upvoted many times or feedback from others which I upvoted that was never addressed by MS engineers. It's one thing when something is not fixed or changed, but it's another when they wouldn't even respond in the feedback hub when numerous users were reporting the same thing. I don't think they read the feedback at all. Had they done so and cared about the insiders' opinions,, Windows 11 might have been different right out of the box. I got to the point I said "why bother".

I so relate to this that I simply will not elaborate. Win 10 horrified me to the extent that when Recall became a thing I wasn't the least bit surprised.

    Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
