Anyone know how to get my Bios history?

I read you can use "the System Information app" to find the history of your Bios, versions, when updated, but under Settings>System>About that is not listed. So far I haven't been able to find another way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just type: msinfo in the Taskbar search box and open System Information.
But it just tells you the last BIOS update and the date.

Unless you wrote it down somewhere... there is no "BIOS history"

Unless you have some Lenovo updating utility. That, may have a history. I doubt it though.



If you look up the make and model of your laptop, Lenovo should have a list of all the BIOS versions.
But there's no way to tell the original BIOS that your laptop came with.
It could have come from the factory with "any" of the available BIOS versions.

If it is the Lenovo you list there maybe a couple of ways, assuming the original installation:

1. Vantage App - System update > Update History.
2. In Folder Drivers > Flash > ...

They store the old BIOS/UEFI update Folders there, Folder name indicates date installed(US style), EXE filename the BIOS/UEFI version.
The oldest one is the original one saved.

I make a note myself in a TXT file so even without those retain the info, including original version in name only.

Correction, the first saved is the first update not the original unless you noted it.

Some modern BIOS'es do keep history, but if so that's only available in the BIOS screen. Your Lenovo LOQ 151RH8 has a function called Bios Back Flash. when enabled, it should let you see the current and previous BIOS, and roll back if required.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven below to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Thank you Ghot, Helmut & Bree. I'll try that. Always confounding when you get misinformation on the internet. I could find Bios Back Flash in Bios, but don't know how to get versions to list yet. I'll have to research that and try.
