Hey, The max temp on that cpu is 100 degrees C, Personally mid 90s would scare me but its technically within limits. Laptop cpu's of that stature usually run pretty hot in laptops.

Why is the minimum over 30C? Is the room that warm? Or have you never measured the CPU temp just after switching on from cold?

Modern CPUs will slow down to protect from overheating. You can notice a drop in performance. All you need is to use an air spray or blower to clean your laptop from dust accumulated in the ventilation slits. If you can open one or two covers to clean it even better. If you are a little more advanced you can clean the thermal paste between the CPU and the metal heat sink and put some fresh paste. Don't overdo it or you will keep heat inside rather than dissipate it (green house effect). Put just the size of a pea at the center. The idea is that it will spread by pressure and create a thin coating on the CPU surface. You don't want it to overflow. If you are not confident to do it yourself ask a more experienced friend or a professional.

Have you checked to see if the laptop has any dust build up. You could try blowing out the vents with a can of electronic dusk cleaner. My HP laptop use to run on the very warm until I found a reg hack that added an extra setting to the power settings that brought the temps down. I don't remember what the reg hack was. I found it by searching; HP laptop runs hot. When I get a chance, I'll start my laptop and see what the extra setting is.

No, I haven't measured from the start and the room is also slightly warm.

I also have read cases of AMD systems that falsely report higher temperatures because of some incompatibility. Upgrading to the latest BIOS fixes that. You could try this too. Upgrade to the latest BIOS and then update all your drivers. This should improve compatibility and performance.

Yes, I have seen laptops nearly burnt because the owner had it on the couch or his/her lap and could not dissipate heat. Combine that with dusty ventilation slits...

My min is 32C and the room temp is 17C. Pretty normal i'd say with it going through boot procedures is most likely where the min temp comes from.

Minimum temperature should not be of concern unless you use liquid cooling and you risk breaking the CPU. The maximum temperature must be as low as possible, certainly not higher than 75 degrees Celsius.

I was asking because using a laptop in a hot room would explain the high CPU temps!

How you define hot? Hee in Greece up yo about 25 degrees is normal, 30 or more is considered hot and close to 40 is unbearable. I think residents of hotter countries such as Egypt would consider 40 OK.
