Hi!
I want to buy an ARM laptop as my main PC next year, but have some questions about software support on these processors.
These are my frequently used apps:
1- Simulia Suite (ABAQUS)
2- CSI SAP2000 & ETABS
3- MATLAB
4- AutoCAD
I can't replace these apps.
Do you recommend buying ARM laptop or I have to wait more years for a better support?
Have you ever run a heavy load on these processors?

Autodesk does not support ARM CPUs, so even if you get it to run via emulation, you're probably on your own:

Basic: 2.5-2.9 GHz processor with 8 logical cores (base) ARM Processors are not supported.
Recommended: 3+ GHz processor (base), 4+ GHz (turbo)

MATLAB is going to require AVX2 at some point. I know there was an Insider build of Windows on ARM that had AVX2, but I'm not sure if it has been released. It should be okay, but you'll need to make sure Windows on ARM supports AVX2 whenever MATLAB starts requiring it.

In short, if I relied on the apps you listed, I would stay on Intel or AMD for now.

Thanks for your great explanation. ❤️
I'll wait for a better support of Windows ARM.
