I have a i7-13700K CPU and Asus TUF Gaming Plus WiFi Z790 motherboard. I’m investigating under volting the CPU for reduced power consumption and temperatures for a given level of performance. The BIOS manual is somewhat confusing and mentions the following settings whch can be adjusted by a negative voltage offset

  • CPU Core Voltage Offset
  • Cache SVID Voltage
  • CPU System Agent Voltage
I’ve applied a -0.05V offset to the CPU core voltage with useful effect in reducing power and temperature. Should the other settings be modified or are there other settings I have missed to modify?

There are three ways to do this:

Adjusting the ACLL (AC Load line - this is different than the LLC)
Using the CPU core voltage offset with a negative offset
A combination of the above

Cache SVID and System agent voltage (Vccsa) do not undervolt, but Vcssa may need to be adjusted for stability.

Are you using custom Asus setting, or Intel standard?

I undervolted an older Core 2 Quad Q9550. Was able to overclock it from it's 2.83Ghz to 3.40Ghz on the stock air intel cooler. Box is almost 15 years old and still runs to this day.

On my current rig, I undervolted by EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra and control my frequencies and clocks with MSI Afterburner. Dropped power almost 100 watts, dropped my temps by 10C, and pretty much 0 difference in my FPS on average. Been running this for nearly 4 years.

Sorry that i don't have specific details for your scenario, but I wish you luck in your configuration. Undervolting has been a solid experiment for me.
