Ultra fast boot disables BIOS USB drivers so you will only have mouse and keyboard after windows boot.
On most of them you need to reset BIOS to disable Ultra fast boot.
In my opinion I would set it to disable.

A good reason for leaving Fast Boot enabled with an Asus Z790 BIOS is that doing so causes the Asus Z790 to boot faster. Yes, I found that answer myself so, please subscribe, hit the like button & leave a comment below. 👍

I am surprised it makes such a difference - even my 11 yr old Lenovo only makes about 2 seconds difference.

That isn't true for my Gigabyte Gaming X Z690 motherboard. Windows loads any USB drivers as normal. There is a switch in the BIOS to turn USB power on/off when shutdown and you can choose to boot with all or just essential USB devices (those that were plugged in on shutdown).

As for getting in to the BIOS, there is a BIOS shortcut that shuts your PC down and boots directly to the BIOS or you can enter the BIOS via startup advanced options. No need to clear the the CMOS.

My GA Z170 also can do it.
As I said "On most of them you need to reset BIOS to disable Ultra fast boot.
What happens if, for some reason, you not able to boot into windows?
With ultra fast boot you only gain some seconds on boot. Doesn't make any performance difference once in Windows.

IMHO< if you do not have many devices and just say you want o mainly use word and surf the Internet Fast is fine for boot, but if you have a bunch of gaming devices they need to initialize and very little help of using fast boot and in some cases make cause bad starts... again IMO. Try them both if you want to see.
