Okay..., the PC is Windows 10 Version 22H2 Build 19045.2846.
Power Options are:

Ultimate Performance
Turn Off Display = 1 hour
Put PC to Sleep = Never

(The last couple of CU updates did some strange things I wasn't used to, and still have a hard time figuring them out as well!)

• All audio sources from the PC go to USB 2 port, back of case, into the DragonFly DAC/to 3.5mm/to L/R RCA into Video In (RCA L/R) on the NAD Preamp/Tuner.
• All other connections are normal, CD Player, Turntable, etc...
• FM radio is FM radio, internal

All of these sources, connected to the NAD, go to the Mirage Sub's Input via NAD's Main Out (RCA L/R)
The Mirage Sub By-pass Output goes to the Edifier's Input (RCA L/R)

... that's it! There is nothing connecting the Edifier's directly to the PC! Yet, after an hour, the screens turn off and the Sub rumbles on by itself!

It weird you would have issues like that under 10 while things are smooth under 11. Is this the same hardware or a different PC?

In order for the PC's sleep function to affect your sound something in the sound chain has to be passing through the PC, otherwise the sound wouldn't be affected.

Directly no, indirectly.... perhaps your DAC? i.e. sound running through the DAC?

With that, you could go in Devie Manager and check the USB the DAC is connected to and check power management and untick the box below...

That's cool. I can't remember the setting, watching the hocky game now, but there's a setting somewhere that allows you to prevent the PC from going to sleep when media is playing.

I know on my Windows 11 desktop it never sleeps when media is playing. The screen may shutoff, but the media (JRiver) plays until I shut it down. To be frank, I don't think I did any settings for that. Media just plays until I shut it off.

My PC won't sleep if media on it is playing..., but, the weird thing is, it does it when the radio is playing..., the radio is coming straight out of the NAD, it's not tied to the PC in any way!?!?!?

Yeah, that definitely makes sense, but I must be reading your initial post wrong for me to say what I'm saying.

Anyway, I'm getting deep into the basketball game now, so my attention span is there. And you got your issue fixed so I'll talk later.

Having re-read this, it does make sense the PC would sleep while the radio is playing if there's no signal going through the PC. With no signal, Windows thinks there's inactivity and puts the PC to sleep.

This Patricia Barber gold HDCD disc of Cafe Blue still sounds great. The CD is very warm sounding and detailed (timbre). In fact, I find this to be the case with most of my HDCD's.

Anyway, big fan of Patricia Barber, and particularly love this one as it was also my first Patricia Barber album (CD). I'd heard this being demonstrated on a pair of 8K B&W speakers (sorry don't remember the name of the speakers since I didn't have 8 thousand dollars to pay for them). Did have the $30 bucks to sweet talk the salesperson into selling me their last copy of this CD. That was in 2004. I remember because that's when I also bought the above CD player.

Anyway, by far my two favorites on this CD are Morning Grace (love her piano, and Mark Walker's drum solo on that tune), and Too Rich For My Blood (again, Mark Walker's drums). Also liking What A Shame. I have a few Patricia Barber CD's, but this is by far my favorite, along with Modern Cool, which I have of Mo-Fi SACD.

Yeah, his drumming throughout that CD is impressive. And also why I like that CD so much. He also plays prominently on her Modern Cool CD as well.

Good drummer, though I'm not really familiar with his work. I did see he's a grammy award winner, so that tells me he's no slouch. He said to have won an award with the group Oregan, and the Carribean Jazz Project, but I don't know which those are. I have on Oregan, and two Carribean Jazz Project CDs, so I'll have to give them a listen again.

Morning Grace off of Cafe Blue is a good workout for a sub as well

Anyway, of the two, I like Cafe Blue slightly better, but it's more about what tune's I'll play the most. Cafe Blue just has more tunes. That said, I do love Constantinople, that'll work out your bass! Also Touch of Trash, and Let it Rain (both versions).

I messed up big time last night and blew up my Kanto YU6. I was fixing something under my desk and I accidentally flick the switch of my surge protector off and back on in split second. Everything else connected to it are okay except for the Kanto YU6 powered speaker unit which was powered on at the time. It seems like I blew up the power supply. I can't call Kanto YU6 about it for obvious reasons. It was entirely my fault and this is already a replacement unit. Good thing I have an extra YU6 passive speakers (also sent to me by Kanto a few years back) and I just hook everything up on my Marantz amplifier and everything is back to normal. But when I woke up this morning, I didn't like how bulky the setup was so I pulled out this spare Class D mini amp that has a subwoofer output and set it up.

It even has its own subwoofer frequency and volume knob which is very convenient.
I tucked the amp under the monitor riser and I really like how it turned out.

I created this knob labels at the corner of my screen as a Rainmeter skin. It is like a wallpaper but I can move it around if I need to.

As for sound quality, I really don't hear a difference. The subwoofer is the main thing here. It makes everything sound good. I will just put the Marantz back in the bedroom. Haha...

This is just temporary until I get my Kanto YU6 repaired. No rush. Everything is good right now.
