Solved AUDIRVĀNA (and other audio related chitchat)

I haven't bought anything new lately..., I haven't set up anything new lately..., I haven't listened to anything new lately...,
... and, we got a pretty generous mid-summer bonus from work, and it's burning a hole in my pocket!!!

And I thought I my Zombie GPU died last night and needed to buy a new one for my second rig (my good old 4790K setup). I hooked up everything to the on-board video and it was temporarily fine. When I fired up that rig again this morning, there's no video signal again. So I put it back on the zombie GPU and it works again!!! So far so good. No need to burn money yet.
We had 2 bonuses this year. Normally just one which is given in spring time but we also had one at the start of the year due to recent inflation.

JRiver sent me an email, so I try it again...

The Windows built in audio On Screen Display..., like the one from Windows 10:

Having the Volume in my mouse horizontal scroll wheel, I've gotten so used to changing the audio source with the OSD...



OSD in Windows 11:

Ah, OK. Yeah, I have that capability, but I have Windows sound set to Exclusive Mode and JRiver configured so only the DAC itself controls the volume. Windows' volume has no effect on the DAC or JRiver except to mute when set to zero.

I thought there was a way to enable it in JRiver..., I use the OSD constantly.

I could always control the volume with the keyboard keys and/or mouse wheel but, I still don't see the OSD.

Alrighty then.... I completely misunderstood your post

With clarity now, I can't explain why it's not showing. I noticed it's no showing on mine as well, but it's never bothered me; and as said, I don't use Windows to control JRiver or the DACs volume.

Not a big deal, I can live without it..., I just thought I could enable it somehow.
AIMP wouldn't show it either until I installed a plug-in for it!

Powerful software!
Many elements remind me of Windows Media Center.
The sound is good especially from a good file!

Well hope you enjoy it. I'm still running MC30. Got an email for 31, but I usually skip one or two versions before upgrading again.

I'm liking it! Lots of stuff to play with! Lots of stuff it can do!
