Backlit keyboard still has power after turning off computer.

Maybe you should rewatch the first minute or so of the video. That power button puts the PC into hibernation mode. It does not actually power on and off the system. There is a difference.
Yes. I saw that. This is more about trying to understand why's and wherefores of the BIOS setting that allows the keyboard to always be on. In other words, is this what it is for? Is this all that is possible?

Also, this comes back to there actually

Also, this comes back to what @Berton said: "Just a comment, the old AT motherboards had them connected directly to the power supply and the On|Off switch connected to the power supply. The change to ATX boards has the power supply connected to the board and the On|Off switch is also connected to the motherboard, pressing the switch tells the board to get things started. The motherboard is usually not fully off unless holding switch in for 8-10 seconds or pulling power cord out of the case or turning off the surge protector."

Berton is correct. There's power going to the board, but the computer isn't really on. You have to push the power switch, which is connected to the MB's power posts, to power on the components.

But all of this is moot. I was actually responding to @Catnip's comment about powering on the computer from the keyboard and not having to push the power button under their desk, not really to your issue of BIOS ins and outs.

I have never booted with my keyboard. I don't know how, but I am now curious if I can turn on the PC with a couple of keystrokes?

It beats searching under my desk for the "on" button.
Just open your case and tap into the 2 wires running to the case Power button and bridge off another power button and mount it flush in the desk. Prob just a 1/4” hole needed.

You can't turn on your computer with your keyboard to my knowledge.* You can wake it if it's asleep, but that's not the same thing. Looks like you're stuck searching under the desk for the power button.

*I'm sure if you put a USB switch and connected it to the power posts and connected it to a switch on your keyboard, you could power it on. @badrobot has his daughter's computer hooked up to a big, red button that she can turn the system on and off with without touching the power button. It's work to do, but if you're up for it, I'd see if he could give you some advice.
Yeah, it's very easy to do. My daughter's PC was too high to reach the power button, so I added a giant power button. 🤭
If you can't find the kind of switch I used, you can use a doorbell button or any momentary switch.
Here's the link to my post about it: Big Red Power Button

Then after a while, I changed the big red button to a smart wifi relay switch so she can turn it off by voice command.

Hi ARG, I'm not familiar with ThinkCenter. I have a Lenovo laptop which came with Lenovo Vantage app installed. On its menu, under Power section there's an option to keep the USB on when the laptop is shutdown. I can use it to charge my cell.

Lenovo Vantage for my pc has no such options. Strange. It can scan hardware and check for updates but nothing more.

Definitely if your computer is not the type (
) with a motherboard/BIOS which allows one to enable the keyboard to do a cold boot. That would me most computers? Certainly true of all of mine. The YouTube user's pc is an Asus.
