Until all the major Linux versions can run MS Office, it will never be anything but a gimmick for conventional pc use.
It has its place, but conventional pc's are not it.

I personally started using Edge lately but, Brave is a close second.

Brave probably has some of the most innovative ideas for how syncing data between device and for me, Brave search is not as good as Google but is better then Bing.

That's not the OS fault. I blame PC game publishers.

...and are you aware that some games run significantly smoother and faster on Linux, even if they're written for Windows, due to a much better CPU scheduler and some other minor differences?

Why would a games manufacturer waste time and money on developing and maintaining Linux versions (possibly different ones), as the market share is too low, and costs far too high per capita.

Of course, if Linux users are prepared to pay a huge premium..........

I don't think people realise how many web servers run on Linux and FreeBSD. Linux is far from a gimmick operating system - yes, there is gimmicky distros but there is some very stable and mature ones too.

Pale Moon and Brave have to be my favourite browsers of choice.

It's not a waste and does not add much to the cost compared to what the actual game costs to design.

As a software dev I know this. It's not complicated at all. Almost just hit that compile button for Linux target and you're done.

If you hit a snag, you've prolly done something wrong or are trying to access stuff in the OS you're not supposed to touch in the first place.

Yeah i am, Yeah thats a matter of opinion mate, lets go to all this effort to make this game work on linux so 8 people can play it ( Yes i know there is more but it may as well be 8 people). Theres a reason linux is second fiddle. Yeah ive seen a few games get a couple of frames more, Suppose only if you're cpu is bottlenecking of some form, Wouldn't run any better for me, Only gain performance in CPU limited scenarios, Thankfully my gpu will limit me well before then but yeah. Linux has its use, It just isn't what 99% of people need.

Sweet, Seems you'd be a pretty good game coder, These companies have been finding it difficult for years, Could you please write to them all and let em know thats theres this button you press and it pretty much sorts it? Im sure they'd pay you for such an easy and groundbreaking method.
Its niche and uncommon. Mostly for severs etc. Which the personal user who's gaming i doubt is running.
