Hi
Have no symptoms. But did have to let new laptop out of my possession shortly after receiving it (ssd in and out too many times and managed to strip on eof the screw heads using a screwdriver that was just slightly too large).
Anyways, I am now concerned that as this was a 'backstreet' type of service, i.e. no shopfront, no paperwork, minimal info on website) that it is possible that the bios coudl have been tampered with. It is probably unlikely but I am still being very cautious as I use the machine for financial transactions.
I have tried re-flashing the bios but it won't allow it becuase it reports the bios is up to date. Have tried cmd line forceit but that doen't work either. Dell eventually got fed up with my persistence (the first operative even had trouble understanding the terms I was using and just kept asking the same questions which demiobstrated a lack of understanding of the issue and what I had already done). Nex levekl technical support seemed at a loss to explain why the TPM they expected to see in BIOS was not present (even thought Windows reports TPM present and active). Call was eventually cut off and no-one called back.
So, asking here. I woudl like to force flash the bios again (with same version as is, as far as I am aware) installed. Machine is Dell DC16250 laptop. It has no Dell Support software on it as it is a clean install on a new SSD.
Any pointers very much appreciated. There must be a way to force flash the bios.
