BIOS update question

Hi All,
I have the ROG STRIX Z590-A motherboard i bought last Fall and noticed today there are several BIOS updates since I done the 1007 which supported Windows 11 by default. Reading the features of each one up to 1402 I was wondering if it would be wise to update even if it is only for the intel security issue and DRAM.
Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, you should probably get the latest BIOS version.
1202 had a microcode update, which is a good thing.
As long as you'll be doing that, might as well go all the way to 1402, it's cumulative.

Rename the BIOS file as directed, put it on a USB stick, and flash the BIOS from "within" the BIOS.

The latest update will include all previous fixes and enhancements.

As to "should" you update... my attitude is you should always have the latest BIOS. It's what I've always done on my systems. Other only believe in updating if there is an issue.

In the end it comes down to comfort level in doing BIOS updates and how you feel about the subject.

Supporting WIndows 11 by default is code for "turn on TPM by default in BIOS". I do not think there is anything beyond that. You can turn it on in your BIOS manually without upgrading. BIOS upgrades sometimes include Intel ME firmware updates and processor microcode updates that may contain security patches. It is up to you.

I also have an ASUS MB based on the Z590 chipset. I've been on the 1402 firmware for quite a while now and it seems rock solid stable to be.
