I have been using a 16:9 screen for many years and A LOT of things I get in that time are using 16:9 aspect ratio(videos, images and even some old games)
How can I remove those black bars

Now on my new laptop, when I change the resolution to any 16:9 resolution, what I see in the screen is 16:9 image(even the desktop)AND black bars so I am not using the full screen

Your screen is 16:10.

If you chose a resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and it filled the screen, it's either be stretched 10/9 in the vertical direction, or cut off in the horizontal direction (90% displayed).

I wouldn't want either.

You can only remove the black bars by stretching the image vertically or cutting off the LH/RH sides.

Personally I would rather have the black bars for 16:9.

In many cases e.g. YouTube and BBC iPlayer videos in 16:9 the black bars are used for Video controls thus it does use the whole screen with 16:9 video, it is actually advantageous to have those black bars with a 16:10 display panel.

"what I see in the screen is 16:9 image(even the desktop)"
In that case you have the display setting wrong, use the native panel resolution at 16:10 it has (Recommended) by it.

Obviously old games will not have the options as they predate the now very popular 16:10.

I did think long and hard about a 16:10 screen on a Laptop but in the end it proved to be an excellent choice.
