Blue circles (Sync pending) on OneDrive

Every time I add something to a OneDrive folder, the blue circle appears next to the folder in Explorer, and never goes back to a green tick. The status remains at 'Sync pending' even though the OneDrive window shows everything is synced.
I can confirm that the files are synced by checking on my OneDrive phone app - they are all there.
It's been doing this for weeks now. I'm getting more and more blue circles as I add/change files in different folders.

I realise you may of already seen all this. Not sure if the link is actually all that helpful to be honest.

The circular arrows over the OneDrive or OneDrive for work or school notification icons signify that sync is in progress. This includes when you are uploading files, or OneDrive is syncing new files from the cloud to your PC.

Sync icons may also be seen online in OneDrive.com.

OneDrive will also check for other file or folder changes and may show "Processing changes". If OneDrive shows “Processing changes" for a long time, it could be because you have an online file open, a very large file syncing, a lot of files stuck in a queue. To help resolve these problems, read:

The most common fix for this that I have read online is to pause syncing for a short period (whatever that is?) and then re-sync.

No it doesn't apply in my case as everything is synced correctly - it's just the sync icon that doesn't change back to a green tick

I have the same problem with the latest OneDrive version: Build 25.020.0202.0001 (64-bit). The main folders show the blue sync icon and all the folders inside are synced, but I see the full green check icon. This is happening with the latest OneDrive rolling-out build. I reinstalled OneDrive first and reset it next, but nothing worked for me.

This has been going on forever, my post on it was from over a year ago!
Still happens now

I fixed it by rebuilding the Windows Search index.

Option 1: Windows search > Indexing Options > Advanced > Rebuild.
Option 2: Windows Settings > Search for index > Choose which files and folders are indexed > Related settings > Advanced indexing options > Advanced > Rebuild.
