Boot sequence problem. I have an Acer Aspire 515-46 Amd Ryzen 3320.

When I enter bios, using F2 function key, the boot tab only lists windows boot manager. I also tried F12. Thus, I can not change the boot sequence.

Do you have another bootable device? If I remember correctly the BIOS will only show other boot options if another boot device is available.

You need to disable Secure boot in Boot tab, to disable Secure boot you have to create a Supervisor password, follow the instructions in the video and create an easy password to remember or write it down, once you have finished with what you wanted to do enable Secure boot and clear the Supervisor password.

If your laptop supports legacy boot (CSM) devices, you must first disable Secure Boot and any other security technology (such as PTT) before you can enable CSM device boot. These options are in Security section and in some laptops Secure Boot might be separate. Then enable CSM device support, save and exit. Now pressing F12 you should be offered to boot from Legacy mode USB flash drive or DVD to install Windows 11 in Legacy BIOS mode.

PS: To disable Secure Boot just do it from the appropriate section in BIOS, you don't need to create any account first, as fellow poster suggested.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have tried all of the fixes mentioned here, and several others I found on the web, to no avail, I still only see Windows Boot Manager. I think this is an Acer problem. The bios is Insyde V1.05. Has anyone successfully changed the boot sequence on this machine?

I inserted a bootable flashdrive before I entered the BIOS setup utility, it was recognized and I was able to change the boot sequence. Thank you for all of the replies.

My bios shows about 15 items under boot. I do have three boot able drives, running Windows 11, 11 Dev, and 11 Beta. Guess I am a glutton for punishment, then again I am soon to be 82. I do use EasyBCD, which only works to add and remove/reorder boot drives. Offers no support for other than MBR. Semper Fi...

Acer may require a bios password to disable secure boot but none of the others I've run into do. I really do not think a password has to be set in an Acer either. I'll have to prove it to myself the next time I get my hands on one.

EasyBCD is for legacy installations, EasyUEFI is for UEFI installations

EasyBCD works for my installations, all I use it for is to change Boot order, or add/delete them. I had not aware of easyuefi, but I did download it and checked it out. As they want 29.95 for a license for two PC's, I have two plus three boots on this one, I will stay with easyBCD. I also use DiskGenius to do any mods necessary for my rig. Thanks for the info, always looking for new tricks.
