Boot_Device_ Inaccessible

I went to update my BIOS but it failed so I flashed back to the previous one. Once finished I booted up but got a green screen saying boot_device_inaccessible. I went back into the BIOS enabled TPM checked CSM, fast boot, secure boot but nothing I did could get it to work.

Found this windows 11 boot device inaccessible - Bing video I was able to follow it up until 2:22 "attrib :\boot\bcd -h -r -s" message said "file path c:\boot - not found". Tried other things but eventually gave up and used the Windows 10 Creation Tool to put Win 10 on and am now in the process of updating to Win 11.

Any thoughts on this? It has to be something to do with secure boot right?

It looks like the Windows 10 is on an BIOS install not UEFI.

security update. nothing wrong that would cause a problem. the reason it didn't work was because the updater couldn't read the file. I haven't checked this out yet, I've been setting up now that Win 11 is running again

If there are future problems where you clean install Windows 10 consider making a free backup image of Windows 10 with new drivers and applications.

Then if there are any future BSOD you can restore the image.
