Not windows related. Happens with no drive or any drive with any os.
Been wondering about psu and motherboard. Ram is fine.

Asus prime b550m-a
Seasonic g series
Hyper x ram - tested by windows and okay
Intel cpu i3 (doubt it’s the problem)

It started the whole process over 3 minutes after that video . Just randomly shuts off windows, no matter what you’re doing. Because it’s hardware

What generation i3 cpu? What gpu? Is this a recent build?

If the laptop won't stay on long enough to run tests, swap testing hardware one at a time is your only option.
That includes your ram as the windows memory test is not as in depth as memtest86.
I agree. I would first suspect PSU or mobo. But it literally could be any component. If you don't have another PSU to swap test with, You can test the PSU by disconnecting all its connectors and using a PSU tester to test each lead. They're about $15 on Amazon.

Reset BIOS to defaults, unplug and drain the power supply, remove the CMOS battery for a minute, connect the power supply again and reboot.
If you can’t get into the BIOS, just unplug and drain the power supply.

Also, check your pins, make sure noting is configured incorrectly with the reset pins. Check no cables are pressed against the rear panel reset button (if it has one) reseat all hardware.

I have had this before, my first suggestion in post number 4 fixed it for me.

The first thing most members look at is your Windows version and your computer specs, please complete them for your and our benifit.

Ive tried them all but most don’t overly suit the exact hardware situation. The different threads are due to the different selection of category, since one wasn’t responding at all. For example, those who cover general help and others who’ll specialize in hardware. Really the wording on the first topic wasn’t descriptive enough and more was discovered along the way. Which started a new subject with a better title to describe it. Because I couldn’t edit the first one. And the first one was probably giving the wrong impression with the title.

If like most computers then the switch connects to a power on or off circuit(chip) on the board. My guess is either the switch is flaky or the circuit is going bad. Most likely the chip from the sounds of it.

Any chance that sort of damage could happen when a fuse shuts off caused by an overworking air conditioner which also pulled the pc power accidentally while on ? Although the pc is on a surge protector power bar. There hasn’t been any stress on the switch of board at all, just that power fuse shut off. This shut down and boot issue happened a couple days after that. Although it ran normal a bout a day in between.

Yes, every chance. And also every chance it was caused by (insert possibility2 here), and every chance it was caused by (insert possibility3 here) and every chance it was caused by (insert possibility4 here), ad infinitum.

Given the failed attempts to rectify, and the situation you describe, it is almost impossible to diagnose without access to the device (hence the lack of responses to the previous post). Best referred to a technician

I give full detail of a situation. Even this video showing the problem. I’ve already discovered it was involving the Motherboard or psu before posting here. Im posting here to see if anyone visually recognizes the issue more. Not windows related!

Not much more detail to give except it’s an Intel Core i3-8350K 4.0 Ghz Quad-Core LGA 1151. When it comes to could I think that could be answered with, could cpu make it boot itself at all? Let me know. It happens with any windows version as well as I said on the first post. “Also happens with no drive or any drive”. I also said it’s not ram related on the first post.
I did use memtest86. Although RAM could lead to shutting down the system randomly, I don’t think it would start it randomly.

I don’t see a lack of response really. I said “I’ve tried them all” on #11.
It’s true, I reset the BIOS to default. The battery is out, i always turn the psu off with the swtich all the time. Turned it off in that order with the battery removed.

Asus prime b550m-a Has it’s built in gpu. If I installed a gpu I would’ve wrote it.

My latest question was simple to respond to.
Was asking Is it even possible at all for damaged to occur while in a surge protector and the fuse shutting off. The answer was yes.

When it comes to pins, This issue happened last week after the power issue. Used the pc since 2018 and no issues were present. I didn’t change anything on the motherboard. I did make sure the psu wires were connected properly a couple days ago and all else on the board. But it was never moved physically since this developed

I think about all you can do is try another power supply at this point just to rule that out. If that doesn't fix it then probably needs a new motherboard or someone who can repair it. Possibly a computer repair place will let you borrow a PS on the condition you'll bring the PC to them if it doesn't fix it.

I’ll do it all myself with an older 500 in a 2008 computer instead of 650 but it’s not easy and i wish there was just a program that could thoroughly check a motherboard and psu
