Solved Broken boot

On the clean install, create the user with the same name as before so you don't have ownership issues.

I never use Rufus. I let MCT create the Win 11 installation drive.
The user created in the new install will have a different SID, so there are no ownership issues that will be corrected simply by having the same user name. Windows does not assign permission with the user name, Windows assigns permission using the SID. It would still normally require administrator rights to take ownership of old user files - except this does not apply in this situation because the files will be restored from a Macrium Reflect backup image using the ownership override option that Eddward has already discovered.

Also -
1. chkdsk failed because of file system corruption.
2. A normal Macrium Reflect Image failed due to file system corruption.
3. Eddward used the Ignore Errors option in Macrium Reflect to create the image - therefore the existing file system corruption carried forward to the image created.
4. When the image is restored, the same file system corruption will be carried forward to the restored partition.
5. Restoring the image is 99+% chance likely to fail. However, nothing is lost by trying other than time.

Ah well... firstly I have a problem to do clean install. I am not able to format partition during windows setup. Error code 0x80042428.

If restoration will fail I will copy necessary files manually from the image. They are all accessible for me. It will be just more work.

I never use Rufus.
The new beta version of Rufus will let you create installation media that will let you bypass using a MS account in Windows Home (if that's what this user has and wants to do) without having to jump through hoops, save disconnecting from the internet during account creation. As far as ownership of files go, if you copy the files from a Macrium backup directly into a local user account, yes, there may be issues if the account name is different. However, since you are opening the image in your laptop, you will be copying and pasting the files onto external media and then copying and pasting again from external media into new user account on PC. Ownership should not be a problem in this scenario.

So I can not do anything with Windows setup. Only partition I can possibly format or remove is where the system is located, but I cant. Removing will give me error 0x80070017 . Formating 0x80042428 . Nothing I can do with this.
Any other way to format disk ?

Feels like dead SSD, but how can be. I just copied 330GB out of it.

Will try, is there any quick guide ?

In the meantime I have image from Macrium mounted in laptop. Everything seems to be there, but I have problem to access my Users\MyName folder as I do not have permissions. I believe files are there but unaccessable for me. Is there any way to open it ?

edit:
managed to solve it... needed to check enable access to restricted folders and make writeable while mounting image... everything is there... will check then
When you mounted the image, did you click on the option I circled? Restricted Folders.jpg

Assuming there is nothing on the SSD you with to keep, try this:
Boot from the Windows installation USB flash drive. When you get to the first screen press Shift + F10 (you may need to do Shift + Fn + F10). This will open a command prompt window. Then:
Code:
diskpart
list disk
select disk # <- replace # with the actual number for the SSD
attributes disk clear readonly
clean
exit
exit

See if that gets you an empty disk you can install Windows to.

A possibility- It appears that motherboard has RAID. The RAID driver (Intel IRST) may well need to be added during the install process under WinPE environment, as some specific devices cannot be recognized or worked with under WinPE environment without drivers installed, (such as RAID or NVME drives.)

I have not read this entire thread, but to answer your question regarding formatting a drive during setup, you could do this:

Start Windows setup by booting from your Windows installation media.

When you get to the first static screen (the first screen where setup pauses to ask for information), press SHIFT + F10 to open a command prompt.

Run "diskpart".

Within diskpart, run the command "list disk". Determine which disk number it is that you want to install Windows onto. Be careful! The next step will completely wipe that disk.

Type "select disk x" replacing x with the number of the disk and press <ENTER>.

Type "clean" and press <ENTER>.

NOTE: If you get an error after running "clean", simply run the command again. On occasion it will fail the first time.

Type "convert gpt" and press <ENTER>.

Type "exit" and press <ENTER>.

Close the command prompt.

Continue installation as normal. When you get to the screen where you need to select a disk, the disk you wiped should show up as all unallocated space. You should be able to select it and Windows should install onto that drive.

@NavyLCDR attributes disk clear readonly is not working, no matter how many times I am trying... we also tried that yesterday..

@glasskuter yes could be that NVMe driver needs to be added, I think I did that a few years ago when I install Win 10 on this drive.. I even have Samsung NVMe driver stored on External HDD for this case from that time... I tried that before formatting partition now, but did not help... can not format or remove partition

@hsehestedt clean is also not working

You should delete the all the partitions (not only format) till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
It will not let me do that. I can delete/format only one where is system located, every other partition has this option greyed out.

Sounds like the SSD is toast.
yeaah :D sounds like that... funny is that I can browse every folder on it with booted Macrium tool and I already did 330GB backup from it as well.... It is just hard locked against writing it seems.
Dont know what happened to it that it did this. Maybe there are really physically damaged cells so it locked itself. But how can I check it ?

Samsung NVMe driver stored on External HDD
Usually it is Intel Rapid Storage Controller driver that needs to be installed during WinPE, or at least that's what I've run into.

Guys. I tried bootable USB from Samsung to Secure Erase SSD - pressing y and immediately got message - failed.
Tried also SecureErase+ option from motherboard UEFI - failed as well.
If I can not secure erase disk, it is probably dead in some way.

I'm a Win 7 user and for what I have seen, If the \User\Name is the same it has all ownerships. Seems that Win 10 / 11 is different.

Ordered new M.2 NVMe SSD. Will be there on Thursday I think.
Will try to restore full image then, hopefully this corrupted image will not damage new disk :D if this fail I will restore files from image manually and that's it. Have full backup on external drive. No one knows what is corrupted, but personal data looks okay and the rest is not important.
