Brother Laserjet Driver?

I have a Brother HL-L2340DW Laserjet printer connected through W-Fi. I'm running the latest Insider Dev build (25169) and now have problems getting it to print without the need to restart the computer and printer. When I looked in Device Manager It's not listed under printers. My other printers are listed. It is listed under Print queues. No driver is listed for it so I'm guessing that it's because it's not listed under Printers. Is this normal or should I try installing the latest driver from the Brother website. It's dated 2017 and according to the how-to I would need to use a usb cable. I would have to use my laptop to download and install. I did just update the firmware over Wi-Fi.

Typically, with Brother printers there is no need to connect the printer again via USB cable unless the WiFi config on the printer has been altered in a such a way as to make the printer inaccessible on the local network.

As an example, suppose that you replace your home router with a new model and your printer is not already joined to the WiFi network presented by that router. In that event you would need to reconfigure using a USB cable.

I would simply go ahead and try the Brother driver. It won't hurt anything. In the worst case scenario, you could always simply uninstall that driver should you need to do so.

I clicked on the .exe and except for a flash on the screen nothing happened. I did lose it in Print Queues until a did a restart of my desktop. For now, it is working. I would like to know why it doesn't show under Printers. I have no idea of what driver it's using or how I would update the driver if needed.

I just tried going to Add Printer and pointing it to the download. It installed a Brother printer but it had a different printer name. I tried printing from it, but it failed. I then ran the trouble shooter and it reported that a problem was found and fixed. It still wouldn't print. I uninstalled and set the original Brother printer back to my default printer. It's printing so I'm going to leave it alone. If it happens again, I will use my Macrium image to roll back to the last build. It still only shows under Print queues. I can right click on it and select Update Drivers. When I choose update driver Windows does say that the driver is the latest. Unless there is another place to look, I have no idea what the driver version is.
