Can connect to internet with phone but not with laptop

I'm pretty sure they are but I was going to test the Ethernet cables for continuity and good contact. According to lights on extenders and the hub that is involved (because of distances being over 100 M to one hall) all is well. Also laptop and signal strength meters can see the extenders.

Log into the main router's setup web page and look at the connected devices table and see if the extenders are listed.

Yes they are. in fact I can see both halls, though the one in the "other" hall is too low a signal to use.

Latest news and summary - In church, all OK. Good WiFi signal, access to internet good, and live-streaming of services.
In hall - ethernet cable from modem, via a hub to extender - checked and OK
WiFi signal in hall ~60 dB
Access to Netgear's local WiFi network works OK but it says it cannot connect to internet.

So issue is simply (!!) good WiFi that can be used to connect to internet via BT modem but nothing (extender, Hive hub, laptop) can connect to internet in hall via the extender.

Laptop can connect to extender's WiFi LAN but not to internet.

Good!! Glad to hear that you now have a concise problem definition!
If the Laptop is connecting to the WiFi, but not the Internet, then I'd try the Window's Network troubleshooter from the Laptop. You may have already tried this earlier, as I had made the very same suggestion in Post #7. Either way, it would be internesting to hear of the results.
(NB: If you spoke to BT or Hive support, they probably would not mention the computer's troubleshooter, as that is beyond their responsibility. Since you are here on this Forum, then that might be the natural next step to take.)

Will look at that tomorrow, though as I implied, but didn't actually say in my second sentence above, the laptop connects to the internet in the church without problems. The only difference is that in the church it connects to the modem WiFi, in the hall it is trying to connect via the extender. Also the Hive hub and my phone have the same issue.
BT I haven't tried - not much faith in their chat lines I'm afraid. I have used the Hive chat line but again not much help (though easier to contact).

Have you tested the hall extender when locating it in the church? Would need to turn off wifi in church first and connect extender by Ethernet.

If I understand correctly the problem is with both extenders. I would start with checking the settings of the router. Unless changing a setting on one extender also changes the setting for the second extender, I can't see how both extenders would have had the same setting changed.

I am not sure if the issue is with both extenders as I didn't really pay attention to which one I was trying. I think it is both.
Anyway, another line to pursue following looking at the link you gave to Home Network Community. Access Control Lists (and now I am totally out of my depth). Where is the ACL kept, is it local or central, and could the MAC addresses of the extenders be blocked?
(BTW - spoke to local IT shop and they didn't offer anything new - and don't do house calls anyway!).

I am still struggling with this and have come to two conclusions - 1 Networking is a black art so setting one up in church is being blocked by God. 2 I have no idea what to try next.
I've tested the ethernet cables and they are all OK. Good connections I've tested the repeaters at home and I can get them to work there without difficulty.
Our caretaker's son is visiting them next week. His job involves installing alarms and related circuitry. I will try and get him to have a look. I am wondering about scrapping the current WiFi hardware and trying Mesh. I'm reluctant to try that because of the expense and not being sure if (and why) that should work when repeaters don't.

I agree but why does the router allow WiFi access within the church but not in the adjacent halls. It is used every Sunday to live stream the service.

My guess and it's only a guess, is that a security setting in the router is blocking the extenders from having internet access.
