I have a new PC running Win11 v23H2
I also have a new Telstra Gen 3 router. I can connect to the router via an Ethernet cable and wifi. I can search and play YouTube clips but I cannot search the internet. I have several devices connecting to wifi and functioning properly. I sometimes get connection if I reboot the router but it drops out. I have changed cables. Any ideas?

Try

Settings > Network & Internet > Change adapter options > Right-click the interface and select Properties > Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

Restart router to refresh connection

Actually forget that suggestion (I deleted). If your other devices are working they’ll just drag you through the boring genetic process of checking everything.

If dacrone’s suggestions don’t work, could you tell us more about your PC, like what motherboard you have and possibly what drivers you’re running?

Also, could you open Windows Settings, go to Windows Update>Advanced Options>Optional Updates and check if there is any kind of network driver on offer

Did the V6 uncheck. No change. Then went into router settings and disabled v6. All suddenly worked until I rebooted the PC. Same old. Thanks anyway

It’s pretty odd.
How is it that you’re searching for YouTube clips?
You’re connecting to YouTube but you can connect anywhere else?

Has this been happening since the new router arrived?
It was working fine before your new router arrived?
Can you think of anything, no matter how small that you may of run or installed since then.

Telstra forces Firmware updates so I doubt you could check for one.

One more thing. You’ll never find a better forum in Australia (or maybe anywhere else) for issues like you are facing, than the Whirlpool Forums.
It’s full of Telstra Techs and people from the industry and it’s a hive of everything Internet/Hardware/ISP related and other information.

I am not saying that you won’t get an answer in here but it seriously is the first stop for Telstra (and other Australian service provider) issues, as well as their hardware.

I came across YouTube working status as I looked for connectivity. I’ve had issues for many weeks. Telstra suggested I update my old router. NBN were involved and now at least all home devices connect. It’s just the internet. I’ve disconnected every device apart from monitor. It is weird I have the same issue with wifi the Ethernet connection and my laptop. My issues predate the new router

Just a thought, do you have Access Control turned on in your new router?

I don't have that make of router but, I had issues with my mobile phone, it would connect when first turned on the router but if I rebooted my phone, the the phone would connect to the router BUT 'without internet access' after that. It was due to the phone dynamically applying a different MAC address every time I turned the phone off or restarting it. I wonder if Windows can or does do a similar thing. Just thinking aloud m8.

I’m wondering what it is then that you may of run on both the PC and Laptop that may of caused this for you.
Some kind of app or software maybe. A script, anything?
