Can I unplug my computer in hibernate

Well you should turn it off using the power switch.
If you have no control of when the power goes off... it won't "harm" anything, really.
You may have to enter the BIOS and just Save & Exit, after an unplanned power failure.
And it will obviously take the computer out of hibernation and put it in the off state.

Welcome to Eleven Forum.
No power is required to maintain hibernation. I have hibernated a PC then replaced its hard drive with another for testing a clean install. When the original drive was reinstalled it resumed from hibernation as if nothing had happened.

- fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.
UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Although the repeated On#Off /On cycle could do physical damage to components and can cause hibernate to end if the power fluctuations trigger the system to start - This would depend on the actual hardware in use.
I have found Hibernation to be quite robust and have often used in on Laptops [Which it was designed for] and for desktops. I have even, on quite a few occasions switched a desktop system into Hibernate and repowered it many miles away - especially useful when time is a factor when you arrive at the destination

When a computer shuts down into hibernate mode it saves its state, i.e., what you were doing, into the hidden file C:\hiberfil.sys. After that file is saved the computer totally powers off. When the computer is turned on again it reads the C:\hiberfil.sys and uses that to restore your computer to what your were doing before you shut down the computer.
Since the computer was totally powered down during hibernate it is safe to unplug it.
