Hello. How do you add web credentials to Windows 11? I know how to access the Credentials Manager but I can't see where to add the login credentials. Should my web logins automatically get stored in the Credentials Manager when I log into a site? If so, it is not happening. Thank you.

Do you have administrative privileges or are you logged in with a user account?

I should of added, passwords for websites are generally saved via browser settings, depending on the browser you use, you may need to check if the save passwords function is enabled. Settings are different for different browsers.

I checked my credential manager, the only web related passwords I see are Microsoft passwords. For me, anything else is browser or password manager related.

Thank you. Yes I can get to the Credentials Manager. I do see a couple of Microsoft based passwords but no other passwords (Facebook, Banking etc.)

Hi, Lizard, what browser do you use?

I think you’re needing to use either web browser password saving or a password manager.

This following thread about password managers may be long but also may be worth your while reading through. There are free password managers if you would prefer not to pay for one, but I couldn’t tell you which are free. This thread may be of use.

Saving passwords via your browser:

For Microsoft Edge, you will need to do the following:

Chrome:

By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this option off or on at any time.
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Profile
    Profile
    then Passwords
    Passwords
    .
    • If you can’t find the Passwords icon, at the top right, select More
      More
then Passwords and autofill > Google Password Manager.
  3. On the left, select Settings.
  4. Turn Offer to save passwords on or off.

I am not sure Credentials Manager is what you are looking for. As I don’t use Edge or Chrome, I can not tell you if passwords you save in your browser are saved to Credentials Manager.

You are awesome. Thank you for the help. Cheers.
