Solved Cannot Open Excel or Word

I cannot get Excel or Word to open. The process shows in Task Manager for a split second and closes. I cannot access Safe Mode. I have already tried a Quick Repair and Online Repair restarting after each. Outlook, Access and Publisher seem to be unharmed by this issue. This just started today. Both were perfect yesterday.

Maybe some corrupt files? Try running Tuneup.bat file?
Run it after unzipping it. It can take a while so be patient.
Restart computer and see if it works.

The TuneUp batch file didn't resolve it.
No image to restore

All other programs are working. It's literally just Excel and Word. The rest of Office works perfectly.

cannot start them in safe mode, or cannot access windows safe mode to try repair?
in cmd, go to the actual program files installation folder and launch the exe straight
ie - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 (or your location)
run

Still not launching.
I tried to launch Excel/Word in safe mode (excel.exe /safe)

If you have MalwareBytes running, that's a known interaction between it and an Insider edition. Turn these off if that's the case.
