Solved Canon printer driver

Im trying to install the drivers for my new Canon 3 in 1 printer when i open the downloaded file it goes through the unzipping process then nothing, anyone offer any help?

As the screenshot states, once unzipped if the setup does not start automatically, you can go to the location of the unzipped folder and run setup from there.

Looking at the .\ in explorer i'd say in the same folder. Try hitting the Browse button and tell it where you want it de-archived to.

It looks like the self extractor is trying to write files to the root of C:. Win 11 requires permissions to do that. You may be able to send them to a different directory.

Or, it may be worth using 7Zip to extract the contents of the file. You should be able to execute the installer from the extracted archive.

+1 for 7-Zip, just tried this on my Canon zipped installer. You can open just the driver folder

Thanks guys for your advise to date, have printer set up had to go through the printer on screen details first which was mostly setting it up wirelessly then after several more failed unzipping process i installed Canon master set up {windows}, see link it installed no bother all is working as it should unfortunatly now i have copy 1 printer? whats going on here.

I would check the IP address for each printer... it maybe one is IPV4, the other IPV6!

You could try turning off WSD... I dont use it because it can become a PITA! Then delete first printer/ then rename second(1).

Remove both instances of your Printer and install it again so you have just one working instance.
Click on the Printer and Set as Default, Remove button is just to the right of that.

In Printer preferences I toggle off " Allow Windows to manage my default printer " various irritations occur if you leave that on.

For installing, follow the manufacturers instructions.
There are basically 2 methods which are essentially the same. Online install or Download driver and install.

No need for any kerfuffle using WinZip or 7zip, Windows will install from the ZIP file.

I have a Canon TS5100 series AIO.
I did have 3 instances on the first attempts, so what I say does work.

If I remove both instances of the printer will I have to go through the wireless set up on the printer screen again?

Mine does that because i have an alternative XPS mode driver. You can delete copy 1 if you're not going to use it.

yes
I sometimes had to do this with one of my HP printers in order for it to work correctly thru WiFi
so far, not a problem on a friend's Canon MG2500 printer

Update: I contacted Canon support a few days ago and got a phone call earlier today from their technical dept, so I had to uninstall all the items from Canon, the guy sent me a link to the drivers I needed but before I downloaded them I was advised to pause any antivirus I had on my machine until the drivers got installed, so all the drivers I needed got installed after that I had to add the printer in the devices and all is working as it should do. so I finally got there. Thanks to all in here who offered advise.
